PUbLISHING WITH KYA

Young man writing and thinking at a desk.

Documenting Black/Caribbean Culture in Canada

Kya Publishing is dedicated to preserving Black/Caribbean artistry, experiences, and cultural contributions in Canada. We are seeking knowledge holders with important stories to share and will work with contributors to transform these stories into professionally produced books that document knowledge, celebrate our communities, and create lasting resources for future generations. Our goal is to help ensure that culture is documented, shared, and remembered.

Themes of Interest

• Caribbean music (reggae, soca, calypso, dancehall, etc.)

• DJ and sound system culture

• Community organizations and movements

Publishing Support

• Project planning

• Manuscript development

• Professional editing

Publishing Partnership

Together, we will develop a publication that preserves important cultural knowledge and makes it accessible to readers.

Financial Arrangements

Each partnership will be discussed individually and agreed upon before publication. Our goal is to create fair, transparent relationships that recognize both the value of the contributor's knowledge and the investment required to produce a professional publication.

Kya Publishing does not require contributors to pay a publishing fee.

Ready to take the next step?

We are seeking stories and ideas that can become future publications. If you have specialized knowledge or an aligned concept to preserve, we invite you to connect with us!
